The Ararat Advertiser Newspaper Australia enjoys the distinction of being one of the oldest continuously operating newspapers in Victoria, second in age only to The Geelong Advertiser masthead.

Since that first edition, on August 1, 1857, which was a free single sheet newspaper printed from a tent on a muddy goldfield.
