Taiwan News Taiwan Newspaper (formerly China News) is one of the three English language newspapers in Taiwan, the other two being the Taipei Times and The China Post. It is published by the food manufacturing company I-Mei, which also publishes the Chinese Mandarin language news weekly of the same name (Taiwan News; the title being in English).

The China News was established in Taiwan in 1949. At that time, the China News was published in the afternoon. Its first competitor, The China Post, appeared in 1952 and was published in the morning. In order to stay competitive, the China News moved to a morning publication schedule in order not to lose its advertisements.

Its name was changed to Taiwan News after I-Mei, a food manufacturing group purchased it from Simone Wei in 1999. Since coming under the ownership of the I-Mei Group the editorial policy of the Taiwan News has been in favour of the Pan-Green coalition. On 1 January 2008, the Taiwan News started publishing in a tabloid format replacing the old broadsheet style. On 27 September 2010 Taiwan News President Jack Wong announced that the Taiwan News would cease publishing a print edition and only be available online. The final print edition of the Taiwan News was published on 30 September 2010.
